Sun Study
The sun study below is modelled in Telfer - a hot arid mine site in Western Australia.
Using the longest day in the year - 21 December, the shade projection carried out compares using only the vehicle to provide minimal shade vs deploying the shade unit.
As demonstrated by the percentages below, the open shade unit provides a significant increase in shade, especially in the middle of the day when the sun is at its highest position.
We always recommend facing the vehicle towards the direction of the sun for ultimate protection.
Additionally, field temperature testing has shown that the shade is able to reduce ambient temperature by more than 30°C -
direct sun temperature of 72°C vs shade temperature of 41°C.
